Almost 12,000 tickets for Scotland's home matches against Wales, Italy and Ireland in the 2009 RBS 6 Nations Championship were snapped up in the first three hours of public sale today.
Such has been the demand from Scotland supporters on the back of the Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Test performances that the latest batch of tickets for public sale for the visit to Murrayfield of Ireland next March has already sold out. The next planned public sale of tickets for the Ireland game will be on Wednesday 21 January 2009. In the meantime, tickets remain on sale for the games against Wales and Italy. Eager supporters logged on to the Scottish Rugby website (www.scottishrugby.org) and the special dedicated 24-hour RBS 6 Nations ticket hotline (0871 200 1511) to buy their tickets from 9am today. By 12 noon more than 6,500 tickets had been bought for the game against the Irish and some 4,500 for the game versus Wales. Tickets remain on sale priced at £30, £45 and £60 for adults for the game against Wales with under-18s tickets priced at £15, £22.50 and £30 for those matches. Adult tickets for the Italy match are £20, £30 and £60 with concessions for under-18s and students at £10, £15 and £30. Scotland's home matches in the 2009 RBS 6 Nations Championship are: v Wales on Sunday 8 February, kick-off 3pm v Italy on Saturday 28 February, kick-off 3pm v Ireland on Saturday 14 March, kick-off 5pm. |
