Andy Dymock
Scotland Player Archive - Scotland U20/21

Andrew John Dymock made his IRB World Sevens Series debut in the Dubai tournament in November 2007, scoring a try in the opening match against New Zealand. The previous month he was in the Rugby Ecosse Scotland squad who competed in the Singapore sevens, and after Dubai he continued in the national squad for the tournaments in George (South Africa), Wellington (New Zealand), and San Diego (USA). Andy has also played for Scotland at under-18 and under-19, making his debut at the latter level in the 32-10 win against Italy at Parabagio, near Milan, in February 2008, only a couple of weeks after he had played in the San Diego sevens tournament.

A year earlier, while still a 17-year-old pupil at Dundee High School, he was selected in the Scotland squad for the IRB series, though he was not called on play in any of the tournaments. Andy, who previously played for Caledonia’s under-16 and under-17 teams, is the younger brother of Alan Dymock, who has played for Scotland at under-18, under-19, and under-20 levels: their father is a past president of Dundee HSFP RFC. Andy, a qualified open-water scuba diver, is a member of Scottish Rugby’s National Academy as well as being supported by the Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport. He is on a general studies sport course at Abertay University, Dundee.
