Peter Kena Jericevich has played for Scotland at under-17, under-19 and under-20 as well as sevens. His first international appearance in the short-game was in Dubai’s opening tournament of the 2009-2010 IRB Sevens World Series, and he went on to play also in the George (South Africa) event a week later.
In February 2008 Peter scored two tries in Scotland’s 32-10 win in the under-19 international against Italy in Parabagio, and four months later he had three starts and a replacement appearance for Scotland under-20 in the IRB Junior World Championship in Wales.
He played in seven under-20 internationals in 2009, three from the bench in the six nations matches and a start (against Japan) and three more replacement appearances in the Junior World Championship in Japan, where a scored a try in the Tokyo match against England.
An older brother, Tane, also has played age-grade international rugby for Scotland (under-18 A and under-19) as well as having been in the Scotland seven at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia, in 2004. When Peter joined GHA from Aberdeen Grammar for season 2007-2008 he linked up with another brother, Rangi. In 2008 Peter moved on to Glasgow Hawks.
Before joining Grammar he played for the Garioch club in Inverurie. He is a former pupil of Inverurie Market Place Primary School and Inverurie Academy, and he was the secondary school’s sports captain in 2006-2007. He has also played for Caledonia at under-16 and under-17, and he is now a contracted member of Scottish Rugby’s National Academy.
Outwith rugby Peter has represented South Aberdeenshire in swimming and was in the Scottish Schools’ 50m freestyle final in 2001. |
