Katherine Muir, a former pupil of Bell Baxter HS in Fife, took up rugby when she went to Glasgow University, where she was sponsored through her studies by the RAF.
After graduating, she joined up as an air traffic controller and is currently based at the London Area Control Centre in Swanwick near Southampton.
Her rugby in season 2009/10 was interrupted due to a posting to Afghanistan and this is her second season with the Scotland squad.
