It’s just over three months until Scotland welcome New Zealand to Murrayfield for their first international of the season.

Tonight (Monday 9 August) BBC 2 Scotland will give supporters a glimpse of the renaissance in fortunes that the national team have been enjoying with some behind the scenes footage from the historic summer tour to Argentina.

The Sports Monthly programme – which starts at 7pm – will feature a look at the preparation that goes into creating an inspiring atmosphere in which the team can perform.

One of the Scotland back-room staff, unsung hero and kit manager, John Pennycuick,  is featured setting up the changing room in Mar del Plata where Scotland competed their 2-0 series win against Argentina – their first Test series success in the southern hemisphere.
