Scotland head coach Andy Robinson tonight saluted his players after they had delivered a 13-9 victory in stormy Mar del Plata. The result ensured that in 50 years of touring Scotland posted their first ever cap series success. It was also the first time in 26 years that Scotland had recorded three successive away international victories. Then it was England at Twickenham in 1983 and the two away legs in the 1984 Grand Slam - Wales in Cardiff and Ireland at Lansdowne Road. But the players led admirably today by Al Kellock, Rory Lawson and Mike Blair, have sustained a sequence started by Chris Cusiter at Croke Park back in March and there is immense pride anew in Scottish Rugby. ![]() A delighted Andy Robinson
The task now for players and management alike is to sustain that belief and confidence and look to deliver the greatest individual prize that has proved so far beyond Scotland - and that would be to defeat New Zealand when they come to Murrayfield in November. Right now, however, all are entitled to celebration and some quiet reflection on a gutsy triumph fuelled by hard work, self-belief and the application of appropriate skill. Hear Andy Robinson's immediate post-match reaction below.
