Scotland under-18 33 - 13 Italy A hat-trick of tries from centre Mark Bennett (pictured), augmented by one apiece from Stuart Hogg and Rory Sutherland, plus four conversions from Bennett, ensured a Scottish victory over Italy in their second fixture of the international event at Llandovery RFC this evening (Tuesday 6 April). Playing into the wind in the first half, a solid performance from the Scots saw Bennett cross the line three times, converting two of his tries. The second half saw further tries from Sutherland and Hogg, both converted by Bennett. Said team manager Euan Kennedy: "With that kind of platform going into the second half, with the wind behind us, we could have expected to score a few more than we did. "The Italians were big and physical but behind the scrum, didn't give much opposition. At times there were some good individual performances - Bennett's second try, run in 50 metres from the line, was probably the best in the whole game - but we lacked consistency. "We obviously have to improve again to beat the Irish on Saturday but it's all boiling up to be a good finale." Scotland now meet their Irish counterparts - who lost 17-41 to England earlier in the day - in their final game on Saturday (10 April, kick-off 4pm) Scotland under-18 v Italy under-18 on Tuesday 6 April at Llandovery RFC, Wales 15 Stuart Hogg (Heriot's) 1 Robin Hislop (Hawick Wanderers) Substitutes
