Scotland captain Chris Cusiter tonight called on supporters to play their part in creating a daunting atmosphere when France visit Murrayfield for the opening match in the RBS 6 Nations Championship on Sunday. Cusiter, a huge admirer of French rugby, echoed the comments of head coach Andy Robinson earlier this week that Scotland must get off to a flying start. He declared: “Starting with a bang is hugely important for us. We have to start well. Some 62,000 tickets have been sold for the match already and we’ll have a great crowd behind us but we have to get them involved early on." ![]() Scotland captain Chris Cusiter
“We have to let France know that we are playing at home and that we’re a proud home team.” Cusiter, who wins his 48th cap on Saturday – his first as captain in the Six Nations Championship, spent two years with the Perpignan club in the south of France. He said: “France are the side I look forward to playing against the most. I love the way they play rugby. I love the country. I love the people. It’s a great honour to play against France. “I’ve not had a massive amount of success against them in the past (one win in six games for the Scotland team). On their day France are one of the best sides in the world.” Around 5,000 tickets remain to see Scotland take on France in the RBS 6 Nations Championship on Sunday 7 February at Murrayfield, kick-off 3pm. However, tickets are selling fast. |
