Autumn Tests 2010
STROKOSCH: SHOW YOUR SUPPORT
Friday, 27 November 2009

Scotland’s back-row warrior Alasdair Strokosch issued a rallying call to the nation’s fans: Come and show your support at Murrayfield on Saturday (28 November, kick off 2.30pm, click here for tickets).

The 26-year-old says the atmosphere during the team’s Hopetoun Cup win over Australia last weekend was special and called on fans, who are still deliberating over whether or not they should attend to come and back the team.

Tickets for Saturday’s Test are priced from £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s and students are on sale via the credit card hotline 0844 335 3933; through the Scottish Rugby website www.scottishrugby.org both of which are open until midnight tonight (Friday); or in person from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, Murrayfield Stadium, which is open 9am- 8pm Monday-Friday. Please note a booking fee applies for all credit card transactions and that no tickets are sold on match day.

Strokosch said: “The fans are massive for us. Running out at the stadium is a great feeling and the supporters really get behind us and give us a lift.

“If anyone is still weighing up whether or not to come along on Saturday then I would encourage them to come – we are going to give everything we’ve got.”

Scotland have enjoyed victories over Fiji and the Wallabies, but flanker Strokosch believes the Pumas are the toughest team he has ever faced in his Test career.

He added: “Argentina are the hardest team I’ve ever played against in terms of their physicality at the breakdown and at the scrum.

“They challenge everything so hard and we know that it is going to be extremely tough.”

Meanwhile, head coach Andy Robinson stressed that Scotland are completely focused on the next test in the Autumn programme – the visit of the World Cup semi-finalists.

Robinson said: “It is the next game and the next challenge for us. Argentina are a dangerous side and we have huge respect for them – we have to set our mark from the first whistle.

“The Australia game is gone now and we are focused on beating Argentina. We can’t assume anything or take anything for granted. It will be a major challenge and we need to rise to the occasion.”
