David Tait marked his debut in Scotland’s colours by scoring three tries in the opening tournament of the 2009-2010 IRB Sevens World Series in Dubai. He went to play also in the George (South Africa) tournament a week later.

David played for Altrincham Kersal and Broughton Park before he made his debut for Sale Sharks against Llanelli Scarlets in 2005. He has played for England at three age levels (under-16, under-19, and under-20), but he qualifies for Scotland as his father was born North of the Border.
