Head coach Andy Robinson has announced today that Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter will be joint captains of the Scotland team for this month’s Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Tests against Fiji, Australia and Argentina at Murrayfield. The ground-breaking move is revealed in an ezine – entitled Robinson Speaks – which Scottish Rugby has sent to more than 150,000 fans overnight.
Chris Cusiter and Mike Blair will share the captaincy
In the ezine – the first of a series of four that will go direct from the head coach to Scotland supporters during the Autumn Tests – Robinson encourages supporters to play their part in delivering winning Scotland performances. On captaincy he declares: “Leadership is not about one person. It’s about developing a number of leaders. This year we are going to have two captains – Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter; two world-class players; two world-class people. What that enables me to do is whichever one is selected will lead the team – but off the pitch the two will lead the team together.”
