Scotland Women got their 6 Nations up and running with a 13-10 victory over Italy at Meggetland.

Fans feared the worst when Licia Stefan opened the scoring after nineteen minutes for the visitors which Veronica Schiavon converted.

However fifteen minutes later fly-half Tanya Griffith dotted down however the missed conversion mean that the Scots still trailed by two points.

Half time: 5-7

The Italians added to their opints tally through the accurate boot of fly-half Veronica Schiavon to peg the Scots back with a five point lead.

Six minutes later Tanya Griffith made her brace to bring the Scots back on equal terms.

Louise Dalgleish’s conversion meant that the Scots were in the lead for the first time, a lead which they held on to for the remainder of the game.
